Washington Capitals stars Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby took a short break from their extensive celebrations to stop by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.
The duo’s appearance on late-night television is the latest stop of the Capitals’ victory tour before they parade down Constitution Avenue to celebrate the organization’s first Stanley Cup. They made sure to bring the Stanley Cup en tow, which Fallon was excited to see in-person.
Ovechkin, Holtby, and Fallon were joined by jockey Mike Smith, who led Justify to the Triple Crown. With straws in hand, they each took a sip out of Lord Stanley’s cup.
“Let’s do it,” Ovechkin said.

They weren’t done, yet. The straws didn’t get the job done so Ovechkin and Holtby held Fallon’s legs as he performed a ‘cup’-stand to the amusement of the Tonight Show’s audience.
You’re a natural, @jimmyfallon!

Monday’s spot on the show was the first time Ovechkin, and Holtby, was physically on late night television. Fallon, twice, poked fun at the Capitals’ captain during the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs in his NHL Superlatives segment.
