And it is high stakes in Sin City as the victor is set to land a big-money crack at whoever wins the main event between WBA and WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

But Lemieux has over-stepped the mark with his latest volley of trash talk, just a day after labelling Spike a wife-beater in reference to a 2008 incident involving his former partner.

The Mahon man has promised to punish Lemieux for dragging up the past in a bid to sell the fight.

And now French-Canadian Lemieux has hit a new low in their verbal sparring by suggesting that O'Sullivan will never be the same again after their clash.

The former IBF world middleweight champion said: “I want to damage him, for life.

“I think he's scared. He talks a lot of shit. He's a garbage talker and I'll shut him up on Saturday.

“He's not a humble guy but I'll humble him on Saturday.”

Lemieux is known as one of the biggest punchers in the weight class after racking up 33 inside-distance wins in his 43-fight career.

He also likes to do the business early on and has so far finished fights within the first two rounds on 27 occasions.

But the 29-year-old insists he does not want to let O'Sullivan off with an early night's work.

He added: “He's a tough guy so he might make it to five rounds, but we'll see.

“It's definitely not going the distance, I won't let that happen.

“But I want to torture him a bit before. He is very disrespectful guy, he has no class.

“I'm going to give him a lot less mercy.

“I'm not worried about doing a few rounds, but I know when I start landing my shots I will be breaking some bones in there.

“I'm going to break all his bones.

“Viewers' discretion is advised. Whoever is sensitive, please be careful.

“If there are kids around, don't let them watch, it's going to be brutal.”

The ill-feeling between the pair has been based largely on a social media but their paths did cross in December of last year in Lemieux's home town of Montreal.

O'Sullivan fought Antoine Douglas as part of the undercard for Lemieux's world title clash with Billy Joe Sunders and the pair met during the fight-week build-up.

But now Lemieux has revealed that Spike showed no sign of ill-will towards him back then.

He said: “He is very disrespectful guy, he has no class.

“He is a very trashy type of guy, he talks all types of things on social media.

“Actually he asked me for a picture that time.

“I didn't know him back then. I said 'yeah sure', just like I would say to any other fan I would give a picture to.

“He didn't open his mouth so I didn't know him, now he opens his mouth I can see what kind of trash he is. I'll take care of him on Saturday.

“That time in Montreal he fought Antoine Douglas who is a 147lber, really. Only a welterweight.

“This time he's fighting a real man right now so it's going to be a different thing.

“He's a big lion when it's a smaller opponent, a weaker man, but let's see how he reacts with a real middleweight.

“If he's the real deal then he will beat me – but trust me, he won't.

“People have said our styles will gel to make the fight of the night – but that's not necessarily the case.

“This will not be good for him, only for me.”
