While the Lakers are reportedly open to including Brandon Ingram in a trade package for Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles has not offered the 2016 No. 2 overall pick yet, according to the Los Angeles Times.

ESPN reported the Lakers’ willingness to include Ingram in a trade Thursday, and the Times does not dispute the team’s openness to dealing Ingram, however, they were clear to say they have done no such thing yet.

Ingram has developed a bit slower than some Lakers fans would have liked, but many compared the former Duke Blue Devil to Kevin Durant for his height, length and ability to shoot the ball from outside.

He is an intriguing prospect and is still only 20 years old. He has a long way to go with his game, and his inclusion in a deal to the Spurs who are known for player development would certainly be enticing.

However, with this report, it is clear the Lakers still believe he can grow into a star, because if they didn’t, he would have been one of the first players linked in a trade rumor.
