Philadelphia moved to 4-4 this season with their Wembley win while Jacksonville’s wheels continued to come off.

It was a fourth straight defeat for the Jaguars and one that came after four of their players were arrested on Friday night after a nightclub altercation over a bar bill.

Both teams struggled to move the ball and put up points on a chewed up Wembley pitch.

The playing surfaced looked muddy and worn and was feeling the effects of three NFL games in as many weekends.

Wembley staff have just 27 hours to get the pitch ready for Tottenham’s rearranged clash against Manchester City on Monday night.

Josh Lambo hit two long-distance field goals – from 50 and 57 yards – to give Jacksonville a 6-3 lead before Wentz finally got going.

The Philly quarterback hit Dallas Goedert with a 32-yard touchdown pass at the end of the first half to move his side ahead.

And Wentz was at it again after the interval, pitching a short pass to Wendell Smallwood before the running back ran it all the way for a 36-yard touchdown reception.

Jacksonville threatened a comeback when Dede Westbrook caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Blake Bortles and another Lambo field goal cut the deficit to two points at 17-15.

But Wentz wasn’t to be dethroned, and his five-yard touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz all but sealed a much-needed victory for Philadelphia.

Bortles had one final chance to mount a game-winning drive, but the Jaguars couldn’t convert on fourth down and the Eagles ran down the remaining few minutes.
