According to Russian officials, the 29-year-old Kachegina tested positive for the steroids turinabol and stanozolol, and for both meldonium and GHRP-2.

Meldonium hit the headlines in 2016 when Maria Sharapova served a 15-month ban from tennis after a positive test.

Kachegina has never competed internationally with a best finish of sixth in the Russian championships two years ago.

The announcement of her ban appears a deliberate statement from Russian authorities after the decision by world anti-doping chiefs to reinstate the Moscow lab last month.

Four other minor athletes were also banned for other doping offences.

Russia remains banned from international track and field meetings although individual athletes have been cleared to compete.
