Who is Usain Bolt and what is his net worth?

Usain Bolt was born in 1986 in Sherwood Content, Jamaica.

He is known as a 100 metre and 200 metre sprinter and also runs the relay for Jamaica.

He holds the world record for both the 100 metres, at 9.58 seconds, and 200, 19.19 seconds.

On June 5, 2018, he made his debut for Norwegian football side Stromsgodset.

He has amassed a substantial fortune throughout his career, with Forbes estimating his net worth at around £26m in 2018.

Bolt retired after the 2017 World Championships but most deals have continued into his retirement.

He is believed to take home over £23m per year in endorsements, with his £7.75m deal with Puma being the largest.

How many gold medals has Usain Bolt won in his career?

In 2016, Bolt believed he had become the first man ever to win the triple-triple, after victories in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay in Rio 2016, London 2012 and Beijing 2008.

But Bolt was last year stripped of his 4 x 100m relay medal from Beijing after team-mate Nesta Carter was found guilty of doping.

That means that Bolt has eight Olympic gold medals to his name.

Bolt also has 11 World Championship golds.

He was a triple gold medallist in the 100 metres after being disqualified in 2011 for false starting, and a quadruple 200 metre champ, winning in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015.

He also has four 4 x 100 relay golds.

Bolt failed to win any golds as he hung up his spikes at the London 2017 World Champs.

He finished third in the 100 metres behind Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman.

Bolt also won gold in the relay for Jamaica at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

So that brings his total of gold medals to 20.

Is Bolt taking part in Soccer Aid?

Bolt captained the World XI at the 2018 Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford.

He played the full 90 minutes as his side took on Robbie Williams' Team England.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be for the sprint ace as his side lost in the penalty shootout.

However his side may have been robbed as it appears a strike from the Olympian crossed the line.

Bolt also struck home the first penalty.
