However according to World Boxing News, several offers were made to potential opponents but at too late notice.

The bout would have been ideal preparation should Miller be the man to take on Joshua next.

Eddie Hearn has booked Wembley for April 13 but is yet to confirm an opponent – Miller wants to take on Joshua in America, though, after confronting him in New York last year.

AJ will be putting his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO world heavyweight belts on the line.

Most fans are desperate for the Watford star to fight either fellow Brit Tyson Fury or WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

A deal with Wilder could not be agreed but Hearn said this week he had offered Fury's promoter Frank Warren a 60-40 split deal to fight Joshua.

Warren denies this, though – he admitted a deal was offered but "it was quite derisory". The promoter insists it must be a 50-50 split or there is no deal.

The most likely opponent is Dillian Whyte. AJ knocked the Bodysnatcher out in December 2015.

After his brutal win over Dereck Chisora, though, a rematch became the most likely option.

Although if a deal still cannot be sorted, there is a chance Miller gets the call and a chance to cause a major upset.

Whether he will be physically ready for the challenge of the unbeaten Joshua after missing this Friday's fight remains to be seen.
