ARSENAL boss Unai Emery has revealed the reason that led the Gunners fight back against West Ham at the Emirates.

The North London side fell behind in the 25th minute courtesy of a Marko Arnautovic strike, before the Europa League semi-finalists clawed their way back.

Nacho Monreal equalised five minutes after the Austrian broke the deadlock, before Hammers defender Issa Diop netted an own goal in the 75th minute.

And the victory was sealed in stoppage time after substitute Danny Welbeck fired the ball past Lukasz Fabianski after getting on the end of a Hector Bellerin pass.

Speaking after the match, Emery said: "The three points were very important. Today I saw good things, but also things for improve.

"It was very important for our supporters. After 1-0, the team was improving, the players, the substitute players made the difference.
