Baker Mayfield is expected to receive significant playing time in the Browns preseason opener.
Cleveland plans to have the 23-year-old rookie quarterback on the field for two quarters in its game Thursday against the Giants, according to a report from ESPN.
Cleveland selected Mayfield out of Oklahoma with the No. 1 pick in the 2018 draft.
Expect the Browns first team offense to play 1 to 2 series. This first preseason game against the Giants will be tons of Baker Mayfield. So get ready. Told the plan is to play him 2 quarters. #Browns

Cleveland’s starters will only play one-to-two series in the game, according to the report. Mayfield, who is currently listed as Cleveland’s backup behind Tyrod Taylor, has worked exclusively with the Browns’ second-team offense in training camp, according to Cleveland.com.
The Browns traded wide receiver Corey Coleman to Bills in exchange for a late-round draft pick this week.
