The Diamond Hogs took a step toward college baseball history Tuesday night. They can secure it Wednesday night.

The Arkansas Razorbacks took a 1-0 series lead over the Oregon State Beavers in the rain-delayed, best-of-three College World Series finals, a victory worth waiting for. Now they’re a win away from securing their first College World Series title after making it to Omaha eight previous times.

The Hogs got to Beavers starter Luke Heimlich in the fifth inning Tuesday, scoring three times on a single, a hit batsman with the bases loaded and an infield error. Reliever Christian Chamberlain walked in a fourth run, the final tally in a 4-1 Hogs victory.

Will it be “Woo pig sooie!” on Wednesday, or will the Beavers build a dam in the Hogs’ path to victory?
