Deontay Wilder claims terms for Anthony Joshua fight are ‘not right’ in rant at Eddie Hearn

DEONTAY WILDER took aim at Eddie Hearn and claimed the contract tabled by Anthony Joshua's promoter is "not right".

Hearn has claimed that Wilder is "deluded" and doesn't want a unification heavyweight showdown with AJ as the American's team have refused to send a contract, despite making the initial offer for the fight to happen.

Hearn has since sent Wilder a contract, which he says was verbally accepted but not yet signed.

But AJ's next fight now looks set to be against Alexander Povetkin after the Brit was told he will lose his WBA strap if the bout is not arranged in the next 24 hours.

In an Instagram rant, Wilder said: "Never sign anything that’s not as agreed, it’s not right! I apologise to all you guys.

"I know this has been extremely ridiculous and it’s sad a grown a** man is playing with fans' emotions and thinking this s*** is funny.

"Their plans aren’t to see the best face the best but to only see how much revenue they can bring in while they can and these are the facts.

"The sooner these guys are out of the sport the better, but don’t worry they will have their Day. [I] Promise.

Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel recently insisted that Matchroom will have the contract sent back to them this Friday June 29.

Finkel said: "First of all, I want to make it clear that Deontay Wilder wants this fight more than Anthony Joshua does. "That is evidenced by the fact that Wilder accepted a flat purse for this fight, which is unheard of for a fight of this magnitude.

"He has also accepted to fight Anthony Joshua in the UK, while Anthony Joshua did not accept a $50 million-dollar offer [the amount Joshua originally asked for] plus a percentage to fight Wilder in the U.S.

"Eddie thinks I dislike him. He is wrong. I just have a difference of opinion with him of what a fact is. When I state something is a fact, I have written proof to back it up. I dare Eddie to do the same.

"To clear up one other fallacy, Eddie knows that they have a written term sheet from us which details our $50 million-dollar offer for Anthony Joshua to fight Deontay Wilder in the U.S.

"We have never received from them a response to this term sheet."

WBA president Gilberto Mendoza originally gave Joshua and his team one month to schedule a bout with Russian fighter Povetkin.

But it appears Mendoza has lost patience, demanding that a fight is scheduled “within 24 hours.”

Mendoza said: "Today the WBA requested an answer from Anthony Joshua's team regarding his fight with the mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin.

"The WBA have allowed over a month extension to negotiations with Povetkin and also ongoing discussions with Deontay Wilder.

"It appears the Wilder team have not returned the contract for the fight and therefore we are requesting a date for the Joshua versus Povetkin fight with immediate effect."
