Eddie Hearn accuses Tyson Fury of using Deontay Wilder to boost interest in next fight

EDDIE HEARN has accused Tyson Fury of using Deontay Wilder as a way to promote his fight against Francesco Pianeta.

Fury, 29, will face the Italian heavyweight at Windsor Park on August 18 on the undercard of Carl Frampton's fight against Luke Jackson.

But Hearn believes the recent war of words between Fury and unbeaten American Wilder is a publicity stunt by promoter Frank Warren.

The Matchroom boss told FightHype: "Fury isn’t ready for this fight if it happens, but they must be offering £15 or £20 million for him to be even considering it.

"Fury and Warren might be playing them [Wilder and Finkel] just to get a bit of exposure for their fight next weekend."

Anthony Joshua's promoter Hearn believed Wilder will "kick off" if he finds out Fury and Warren are not serious about a fight.

He said: "If it’s true, It’s a great game they’ve played, but then Wilder will kick-off for sure."

And Hearn, who has spoken with the Gypsy King, doesn't believe the fight will take place this year.

He added: "I can only say, that from my conversations with Fury, this fight isn’t happening in November, December. I mean he won’t fight Tony Bellew, he won’t fight Dillian Whyte.

"I hope the fight happens because it makes Wilder v Joshua huge, but there is significant risk for Fury as it would kill a future fight with Joshua if he lost. There is a huge risk.

"One thing I’m 99% sure about is that if he fights Wilder he will still have another fight in between. Then there might be a little injury.

"If I was Wilder I would be extremely sceptical."
