Wilder took to Twitter to share his thoughts after the WBA gave Hearn and co 24 hours to agree a fight with WBA mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin or Joshua would run the risk of losing his belts.

Hearn tweeted: "Sign the contract" with the Pinocchio emoji, implying Wilder's version of events weren't completely truthful.

Wilder said on Twitter: "Well, I tried. I tried to give you guys the biggest fight of your lives, the most exciting fight in world history.

Wilder was also outraged about the fee offered in the contract for the highly-anticipated bout.

He claimed his team had done everything they could but "terrified" Joshua and his team "played us all".

He added: "They offered me a "Flat Fee" Crack Head money, something that's equivalent to a pack of peanuts and loaf bread and a jar of honey!

"My team and I bent over backwards pause accepting everything they threw at us just to find out this Boy is terrified of me P****.

"3 months of Tea Parties by grown men they didn't even have British hospitality and offer biscuits w/ the tea smh Damn!

"I'm sorry guys they played us all. F***'em!! We move forward the future is still bright #51-0 baby let's go."

AJ currently holds the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles and a fight with WBC champion Wilder would give him the chance to unify the division.

But it was confirmed on Tuesday that Joshua's next fight would be with Povetkin but the US fighter's team say that Joshua now wants the bout to take place next April.
