Edin Dzeko open to Premier League return before end of career but Roma ace fears it may be too late

EDIN DZEKO is not ruling out a return to the Premier League before he calls time on his career.

But the 32-year-old fears it may be too late to return to the league which he has fond memories of, having won the title with Manchester City twice.

The Roma striker was a key part of City's title-winning squads, but unlike for his Italian team he played second fiddle to the big stars and was often referred to as a 'supersub'.

Whereas for the Serie A side, he has started seven times and scored twice so far this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: "Regarding the Premier League, maybe it's too late.

"You never know.

"I had four-and-a-half great years there, and had fun every minute of every game.

"I love the Premier League and England, so we'll see. At the moment I'm happy in Rome."

Dzeko was linked heavily with a move to Chelsea last January, alongside Emerson Palmieri, but the deal collapsed as the window slammed shut.

At the time he was rumoured to be concerned about lack of opportunities, as he is the first-choice up front for Roma.
