Football club employ stray dog as assistant coach since he won’t leave manager’s side

A FOOTBALL club have appointed a stray dog as their new assistant manager – after it refused to leave the manager's side once he fed it some food.

Paraguayan side Sporting Club 2 de Mayo gave Tesapara a paws-on role at the club when it started barking orders from the sidelines.

Manager Jara Saguier has the friendly mutt by his side during games, and he has even been pictured taking training.

Saguier said: "I gave him a piece of pie [empanada] and from that day on, every time I came to work, he greeted me.

"He no longer ran away from me.

"Now he threatens our opponents with a grunt."

Heartwarming images showed the pooch in the technical area alongside Saguier, messing around with players during training and joining in with post-match interviews.

And when he's not on the touchline, Tesapara casts a keen eye on proceedings from the stands.
