However the IBF are refusing to approve of that battle, and in accordance to ESPN are prepared to strip him of his title.

Rule 5.H of the IBF structure reads: "If a champion participates in an unsanctioned contest inside his prescribed weight restrict, the title will be declared vacant whether or not the champion wins or loses the bout.
