Can Nick Mullens prove last week wasn’t a fluke?
It’s been 11 days since the 49ers’ 2nd-year quarterback shocked the NFL world by throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns in his NFL debut.
Mullens will try to lead the 49ers (2-7) to their second straight win as they face the New York Giants (1-7), another team that has seen their playoff hopes quickly evaporate.
New York has not won since Week 3 against the Texans, but Rookie of the Year contender Saquon Barkley has been one of the Giants’ biggest bright spots. A strong performance from Barkley will be necessary if the Giants want to get back in the win column.
Sporting News will provide live updates of Giants-49ers on Monday Night Football.
