Gleyber Torres could rejoin the Yankees shortly after the All-Star break.

The 21-year-old infielder will play a pair of minor league rehab games this weekend, according to a report from the New York Post. Torres then is expected to return to the New York lineup prior to its three-game series with the Rays next Monday.

The Yankees placed Torres on the disabled list July 5 with a right hip strain. New York manager Aaron Boone said Torres may have been able to play through the injury if it had occurred later in the season.

Torres has registered a .294/.350/.555 slash line as a rookie this season. He has also hit 15 home runs and tallied 42 RBIs.

The Yankees entered the All-Star break in second place of the American League East with a 62-33 record.
