Hughie Fury to fight Kubrat Pulev in Bulgaria in October – with winner to face Anthony Joshua for IBF title

HUGHIE FURY is set to fight Kubrat Pulev on October 27 in Bulgaria – with the winner primed for a shot at Anthony Joshua and the IBF belt.

Bulgarian Pulev has revealed an agreement has been made between the two boxers' camps, with the final eliminator to take place in the capital Sofia.

Pulev was first told by the IBF he would be facing either Dillian Whyte or Jarrell Miller.

But neither of these came to fruition, and his next opponent will be Tyson Fury's cousin, Hughie.

Pulev said: “Two have refused so far – Whyte and Miller, but Fury has already said no problem and he will play.

“The date is clear – October 27, the fight will be in Sofia.

"It looks like it'll be a very interesting game. He is a good, young boxer."

Pulev was forced to withdraw from his fight with Joshua in October 2017 with a shoulder injury but has high hopes of stepping in the ring with the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion.

He added: “I sustained the injury – I'm a man after all, though I'm almost a superman, but now I'm fully recovered.

"This game [fight with Joshua] will take place, it's getting near and I have to win."
