Konta said: "I played her at the US Open last year and lost, and she was coming in after just winning a tournament, so I knew it was going to be tough.

"I'm really happy I was able to keep my focus on my side of the net and do what I needed to do.

"I feel a little bit spoilt, like a young girl again. My mum and dad are cooking for me and doing my laundry.

"I'm really enjoying being home."

Johanna Konta rants at tennis umpire during loss to Ashleigh Barty in WTA Aegon Open Nottingham

Konta was all business, putting behind her a first-round defeat in Birmingham and a bad-tempered defeat in the final in Nottingham.

The Brit showed aggression and hit plenty of winners, although she was helped by an opponent who did not seem to want to linger long on the Devonshire Park lawns.

World No 39 Krunic made a number of unforced errors and had treatment to her left knee between the two sets.

Konta broke the Serb's serve twice in each set and will now play top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the last 16.

Konta said: "I haven't played here in quite a while.

"She is a Grand Slam champion and I'm looking forward to the battle."
