Joe Joyce to head out to US to get Tyson Fury into shape for Deontay Wilder fight

JOE JOYCE is going to whack Tyson Fury into shape for his Deontay Wilder war now he has beat the bulge.

The Juggernaut sparred the Gyspy King when he was in the boxing wilderness for almost 1000 days after losing his titles through mental health problems and a huge weight gain.

But the 30-year-old former champion has enjoyed two comeback fights and faces the WBC king on December 1 and will be moving to California for training alongside Joyce.

After demolishing Iago Kiladze inside five rounds on his Sunday night USA debut, Joyce revealed: “He is coming to train alongside me in California and we are going to help each other.

"He is a good fighter, he's a laugh and he's very mobile now.

“When I last sparred him he was a bit overweight so I took it easy on him.

“But even then he was a nightmare to hit and coming at mad angles. We will have a great training camp.”

A win over the 40-0 Alabama giant should secure Fury his shot against WBO, IBF and WBA king Anthony Joshua.

And Joyce has done plenty of rounds with the 28-year-old Watford superstar who needs an opponent for April 13 for another Wembley battle.

The 33-year-old says catching AJ cold is the key to beating him.

He revealed: “Me and AJ have spent a lot of time together sparring.

“I was sparring him ahead of his Olympics win and when he turned pro I have been in the GB camp in Sheffield where he trains.

“I helped him out for his pro career and he helped me get ready for the Rio Olympics.

"At the start of his camp I would be on top but if at was as the start of my camp – and I had just come off holiday – then he would be on top.

"It was always competitive.”

Fury and Wilder also featured on Good Morning Britain today where they sat on the sofa alongside Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid ahead of today’s press conference.

As Fury revealed his shocking weight loss, Wilder branded Anthony Joshua a coward: “Hey Joshua, me and Fury are about to get this thing on. We're about to see who's the biggest and the baddest in the world. That's something that you was a coward to do in your own country. You're a compulsive liar.”

Both Fury and Wilder were kept apart by security during the build-up of the show.
