Despite leaving on a free transfer, Chelsea were due a compensation figure because he's under the age of 24.

The two clubs had been haggling over his fee and it looked destined to be decided by the Professional Football Compensation Committee.

According to the Echo, Liverpool valued Solanke at just £3million but Chelsea wanted closer to £10m.

It remains unclear over how much the Reds forked out for the 20-year-old but the issue is now settled.

Solanke made just one first team appearance for Chelsea during his three years at the club.

He then decided his development was better suited elsewhere and joined Anfield where he played 21 times in the Premier League.

His move appears to paid off after he was awarded his first England cap in a friendly against Brazil last year.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard wants to add firepower to his new Rangers side and eyes a loan deal for Solanke.
