Karius is being tipped for a loan move away from Anfield, after Alisson took his spot in the starting XI.

Ever since the former Augsburg stopper made two howlers in the 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, there has been talk of him leaving the Reds.

Besiktas are one side keen to take him on a long-term loan – with Simon Mignolet now set to take on the role of No2 having been on the brink of a move himself this summer.

With Karius all but out of the Anfield door, Jurgen Klopp has revealed he had no idea how to approach the German after the Champions League final.

Karius rolled the ball to Karim Benzema to poke into an empty net while letting a long-range Gareth Bale strike slip through his grasp in the painful defeat.

Since then it's been claimed the German may have been suffering from concussion.

On the game in May, Klopp told Sport1: "I am a strong supporter of the idea of just shutting up if you don't have the right words.

"And other than a few comforting words I did not have the right words. I did not have a clue what you could say.

"Neither was I angry at him nor was I disappointed in him or something else. I only saw his situation, and everyone would love to have the right words.

"I didn't have them. And that's why we left it at it that evening but for a few words.

"By now, I [have] talked to him, not only about this. The situation is clear and everything is good."
