Napoli sits top on nine points, while Liverpool is three points behind in third. PSG travel to bottom-place Red Star Belgrade and will be expected to beat their Serbian hosts, who have conceded 13 times in five games but did beat Liverpool 2-0 at home in October.

Les Parisiens are only one point behind Napoli and will take first if the Partenopei fails to beat the Reds at Merseyside. Jurgen Klopp’s men can tie level on nine points alongside Napoli with a win and have no choice but to go for the win if they’re to avoid dropping into the Europa League.

A replica of that 1-0 result for Liverpool would see the tiebreaker go to overall goals scored and in favor of the Reds, who have netted eight times in their campaign compared to Napoli’s seven.

Including their clash two months ago, Liverpool and Napoli have met only four times (including friendlies), per Soccerway, and beat the Serie A outfit in their only meeting at Anfield. The Reds won their home leg 3-1 in the group stage of the 2010-11 Europa League and drew 0-0 in Naples that season, a feat they were within minutes of mimicking until Lorenzo Insigne’s late intervention.

Klopp’s men have the rare morale boost of coming into this fixture as Premier League leaders, with Manchester City surrendering the summit following a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday.

Napoli continues to toil in Serie A, second to eight-point leaders Juventus, but they’re unbeaten in 12 matches and won three of their last four on the road (the other being a 2-2 draw at PSG).

Ancelotti will provide Klopp with a tough tactical opponent, and the Italian only needs one point to secure Napoli’s place in the knockout stages, while Liverpool goes for broke in search of a necessary three points.
