Manny Pacquiao still hopeful of Floyd Mayweather rematch after fight against Adrien Broner

Mayweather, 41, won the fight by unanimous decision when the two stars collided at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 2015.

The Filipino star will defend his welterweight title against Broner on January 19 and he's hinted that he could face the former five-weight champion after.

Speaking at the pre-fight press conference, Pacquiao revealed: “Floyd, when we met in Japan we talked and he said he wanted to come out from retirement to fight me, to challenge me.

“All I know is to fight in the ring and to give excitement and entertain people."

“That’s my job. If Floyd comes out of retirement after this fight we’ll see. But I cannot underestimate Adrien Broner.

“I want to the fight the greatest opponent, the greatest fighters in the world, one of them is Adrien Broner. I can fight anybody."

But Pacquiao has angered Broner by discussing the rematch with Mayweather before their showdown next year.

The American, 29, said: “They keep on talking about rematches, they got to get past me. The things he’s done in this game is unbelievable.

“I know come January 19 I’ve got to be on top of my s***, I’m here to f*** him up though."

Broner, who is without a win in his last two fights, has claimed that he is fighting Pacquiao to become a legend – and not for the money.

He added: “It’s going to be a hell of a fight, all bulls*** aside I’m not coming to just pick up a cheque.

“It means a lot to me honestly. A win, I turn into a legend overnight.”

And Mayweather will be focused on his fight against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa – which he has confirmed will be going ahead.
