Marcus Johansson won’t be on the ice for a little while.

The Bruins forward sustained a lung contusion in Boston’s win over the Hurricanes on Tuesday when he was checked by Michael Ferland.

He will be re-evaluated in one week.

Johansson had to stay in the hospital overnight for observation and was discharged Wednesday.

The 28-year-old has 12 goals and 16 assists in 52 games this season with the Bruins and Devils. Boston acquired Johansson from New Jersey for second- and fourth-round picks in the 2020 draft at the trade deadline.

The Bruins are 40-17-9 and three points up on the Maple Leafs for second place in the Atlantic Division.

They are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games and the majority of that has come without forward David Pastrnak, who has been out with a thumb injury. He has been sidelined since Feb. 10.
