Rejoice, America. MLB Opening Day is right around the corner.

The 2019 Major League Baseball season schedule actually gets under way March 20, when the Mariners and Athletics begin a two-game set in Japan. Eight days later, all 30 MLB teams will be in action for what is officially Opening Day — a national holiday for baseball fans everywhere.

When is MLB Opening Day 2019?

It will be an early start to the baseball season, as all 30 teams will be in action on Thursday, March 28. It is the second straight year every team will be playing on Opening Day. The unofficial beginning to the season is Wednesday, March 20. The Mariners and Athletics play a two-game set in the 2019 Japan Opening Series at the Tokyo Dome. 

What time does Opening Day start?

The first two games will begin at 1:05 p.m. ET and feature a pair of AL and NL East division rivalries between the Mets and Nationals and Orioles and Yankees.
