The Brewers have added a starter.
Milwaukee has acquired lefty Gio Gonzalez from the Nationals, the team announced Friday. Washington received minor league infielders KJ Harrison and Gilbert Lara in the deal.

Gonzalez, a two-time All Star, has registered a 7-11 record with a 4.57 ERA in 27 starts for Washington this season. He has struck out 126 and walked 70 in 145 2/3 innings.
The 32-year-old spent his first four MLB seasons with the Athletics before he was traded to the Nationals in December 2011.
Gonzalez has tallied a 3.71 ERA over his 11-year career.
The Brewers entered play Friday with a two-game lead for the second National League wild-card spot.
