The Astros could be looking to add another starting pitcher as they are showing interest in James Paxton.
According to The Athletic, citing unidentified sources, the Astros are among the teams talking to the Mariners about a trade for the pitcher. The report added that the market interested in Paxton is “active” and includes the Yankees.

Paxton, who will be under team control for the next two seasons, registered an 11-6 record with a 3.76 ERA in 28 starts for Seattle last season. He struck out 208 and walked 42 in 160 1/3 innings on the mound.
The 30-year-old left-hander has spent all six of his MLB seasons with the Mariners, holding a 41-26 career record and a 3.42 ERA.
