After taking the hit, she tried to continue for a while before backing off and verbally submitting to the referee.

But unbelievably the official seemed to invite opponent Pauline Macias to continue her assault after not believing Meacham.

He called off the bout soon later but not until the stricken fighter had taken several more unnecessary shots.

The commentator insisted: “That’s a broken jaw, I bet you. I’m willing to bet you that’s a broken jaw.”

Upon the change of station, the UFC have marked the switch with a new title belt.

From comparisons to old WWE belts, to accusations of how much the title cost, fans have made it clear they don’t like the new design.

One said: "I like the ideas and the left and right plates, but the main, center plate isn't good. Looks like Toys R Us."
