NASCAR at Kansas: Live updates, highlights from Hollywood Casino 400

Several big-name drivers could miss the NASCAR Cup Series playoff cutoff on Sunday at Kansas Speedway.

Reigning champion Martin Truex Jr. enters 18 points above the elimination line, while Brad Keselowski needs a win or help from other drivers to sneak into the Round of 8.

Chase Elliott and Aric Almirola scored surprise wins in the previous two races, securing automatic advancement as others dealt with crashes and car problems.

NASCAR at Kansas: Live race updates, highlights

4:44 p.m. — Kurt Busch was not expected to be in danger, but he’s driving for his season right now.

4:39 p.m. — With less than 80 laps remaining in the race, Kurt Busch is in 22nd place.

4:29 p.m. — Kyle Busch and Logano are safe now, too.

4:20 p.m. — Harvick wins Stage 2!

4:16 p.m. — Truex Jr. is in trouble. As of now, he would NOT advance to the Round of 8.

4:09 p.m. — Harvick, Blaney and Logano are at the head of the pack.

4 p.m. — A couple of penalties in the middle of Stage 2.

3:55 p.m. — Kurt Busch is last among playoff drivers. He’s running in 16th right now. Forty-five laps to go in Stage 2.

3:45 p.m. — Truex Jr. is starting to make some moves.

3:40 p.m. — Harvick has clinched a place in the Round of 8.

3:31 p.m. — At the end of Stage 1, Logano has the edge. Truex Jr. is in 12th and Keselowski is in 16th.

3:29 p.m. — Here’s the current top 10:

3:24 p.m. — Ryan Blaney is now in first. We’re 65 laps in.

3:12 p.m. — Caution. William Byron experiences an engine failure. There’s oil everywhere.

3:10 p.m. — Drivers are going to the pit stop in droves as we’re more than half way through Stage 1.

3:02 p.m. — More wall trouble, this time from a playoff driver.

3:01 p.m. — Bowyer seems to be having some problems.

3 p.m. — Hmm…

2:55 p.m. — We’re 25 laps in. Top 3: Logano, Ryan Blaney, Kevin Harvick. Truex Jr. is in 11th place.

2:49 p.m. — Already some action along the wall.

2:47 p.m. — Joey Logano leads after 10 laps.
