Fernando Alonso has been invited to enter the Daytona 500 next year as the world of motorsport waits to discover his next move after leaving Formula One.
Two-time world champion Alonso confirmed on Tuesday that he will step away from F1 at the end of the 2018 season, his 17th in the sport.
A switch to IndyCar has been rumored but NASCAR has also now teased a move. Replying to Alonso on Twitter, NASCAR’s official account posted: “A new challenge awaits. We hope you’ll accept with pleasure, @alo_official.”
