NFL coaches won’t know who Harry Kane is… being a kicker isn’t as easy as he thinks, says Jacksonville Jaguars star Josh Lambo

HARRY KANE has been warned his dream move to the NFL will be "difficult" – because coaches won't know who he is.

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo also says Kane will find hoofing a ball an entirely different proposition with 11 300lb men running at him "trying to take off his head".

The Tottenham star man and World Cup Golden Boot winner has one of the highest profiles in the Premier League – and recently revealed he wants to be a kicker in American football when he retires.

But Lambo, who had trials at Everton after being recommended by Tim Howard, has told the England captain and huge New England Patriots fan that he will be treated like everyone else in the US.

Lambo, 28, told SunSport: "There is a lot more to it than just kicking a ball and standing there.

"Can you do it with the snap and hold? Can you do it in pads and a helmet?

"Can you do it with 11 300lb men trying to run at you and take your head off?

"It's doing it in front of 60,000-70,000 people, which wouldn't be an issue for him – but it is a little bit more complicated than just kicking a ball.

"From a publicity standpoint a team might take a chance on him in pre-season to see how he does but the lack of experience in that exact position might be concerning for some teams.

"I wouldn’t say the average NFL fan knows about him and I would say the typical NFL coach doesn’t know who Harry Kane is."

Kane – who today received his MBE from Prince William – says he envisages conquering America in ten to 12 years, by which time he would be at least 35.

And Lambo predicts more difficulties then – even though he is a fan of his undoubted talent.

He added: "There are kickers that do it into their 30s and 40s but it will be more difficult to transition to a new sport at the highest level at that age.

"He's a top athlete but that would be difficult.

"It would be difficult for a team to take a chance on him because of his age and the fact he's never done it in a game before.

"But if and when he wants to try it, ten to 12 years would be great because that’s when I’ll be retiring!"

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the only NFL team dedicated to the UK having committed to play at least one game at Wembley every year until 2020. The commitment goes beyond the professional team as they host a range of fan events in the UK. Find out more @JaguarsUK on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
