Nick Foles appears to have avoided a major injury.
The 29-year-old quarterback left the Eagles preseason game against the Patriots on Thursday with a strained shoulder. But, the injury is not considered serious and Philadelphia is not anticipating a ‘prolonged recovery’ for Foles, according to a report from the NFL Network.
#Eagles QB Nick Foles was optimistic and confident that his shoulder injury last night was a minor one… and it is. Source said after tests that’s he’s ok. Don’t expect any prolonged recovery.

Foles originally hurt his shoulder when he received a hit from Adrian Clayborn while attempting a pass in the second quarter. He left the game and was replaced by Nate Sudfeld.
The Eagles are hopeful starting quarterback Carson Wentz, who tore his ACL in December, will be available to play in Week 1 against the Falcons. Philadelphia recently signed former Jets quarterback Christian Hackenberg.
Philadelphia will face the Browns in its third preseason game Thursday.
