It took him an hour and 20 minutes to dispatch the Frenchman and claim his 800th match, only the tenth player to do so.

The victory also earned just his second semi-final of the year, following his run to the last four at the Rome Masters last month.

Djokovic is still trying to find his best form after 12 months of struggles with injuries that saw him miss the 2017 US Open.

But he showed no signs of pain as he powered home after a nervy start.

Mannarino had led 3-1 in the first set, before Djokovic fought back to take it 7-5.

Although it had taken him a few games, the Serb ended the game unstoppable, claiming the final five games without reply.

Djokovic will be looking to continue his current form to reach his first final since winning the Eastbourne International almost 12 months ago.

With Wimbledon under two weeks away, the Serb is hitting his stride at the right time.
