D.J. Moore is living life in the fast lane on and off the field.
The Panthers rookie wide receiver was cited for speeding earlier this month, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Per the report, Moore was clocked going 113 mph in a 65 mph work zone on Interstate 77 — a whopping 48 miles over the speed limit.
Moore, 21, had just gotten home from Buffalo, as the Panthers played the Bills in a preseason tilt earlier that night. He was charged with speeding and speeding in a work zone at over 80 mph.
The first-round pick seemingly understood the gravity of the situation and informed the team immediately after the incident occurred.
“When it all happened, D.J. came to us right away and explained the situation,” Ron Rivera said, via the Charlotte Observer.
“He was very remorseful. He understood. We chastised him obviously. And he’s moving on. And it’s an opportunity to learn for him and for the other young guys. ‘Hey, you have a responsibility to the community.’”
