Penguins prospect Jordy Bellerive has been hospitalized after a fire broke out during a bachelor party Saturday in Calgary.

The team on Sunday announced assistant general manager Bill Guerin spoke with the prospect forward following the incident. Bellerive was injured but “is in good spirits and expected to make a full recovery.”

In addition to Bellerive, his Lethbridge Hurricanes teammate Ryan Vandervlis and former teammate Matt Alfaro have also been hospitalized. The team issued a statement wishing “heartfelt thoughts and prayers” as their health was deemed the highest priority.

While the cause and status of their injuries have not been disclosed, Global News reported one of the three players is in critical condition. However, a Penguins team source confirmed to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Bellerive was not that person.

Bellerive, 19, signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Penguins in September. He led the Hurricanes with 46 goals and 92 points in 71 games last season.
