ROGER FEDERER has introduced he will skip the clay court season – together with the French Open – to prepare for Wimbledon.

The 36-yr-previous will lose his place at the prime of the ATP rankings  after his shock defeat to world No one hundred seventy five Thanasi Kokkinakis in the Miami Open on Saturday.

Federer will get replaced by Rafael Nadal when the new rankings come out on April 2.

The 20-time grand slam winner is about to focus his consideration on defending his Wimbledon crown in July and go for a staggering ninth win at SW19.

Federer stated: “I deserve it after this match. I really feel so dangerous.

"I made a decision not to play the clay season."

His 17-match unbeaten run was ended by Juan Martin del Potro in Indian Wells final week.
