I’m calling this now. I think the US are going to win this session 2 1/2 – 1 1/2 which will stay make things a little uncomfortable in the singles tomorrow, a session that the Americans are traditionally stronger.

Poulter and McIlroy aren’t exactly hitting the heights this afternoon. They gift another hole to Spieth and Thomas as the senior partner in the pairing lets a 6-foot par putt get the better of him at 6.

Watson and Simpson go three up as Alex Noren’s bogey putt drifts by on the high side at the 7th. They need to get into this game – and fast. Trouble is, they’re not showing any signs of doing that.

Grrr, the Halifax Wizard of Oz advert is on again. There was a poll on Sky Sports Twitter feed earlier, asking who people wanted Anthony Joshua to fight next. The Welsh guy from those ads came top. I’d pay to see that to be fair.

Tiger Woods must be sick to the back teeth of Frankie and Tommy. The European stars claim another hole at the 6th as Bryson DeChambeau fails to match their par. One-way traffic again…

    3 UP Molinari & Fleetwood v Woods & DeChambeau (6)
