Cam Jordan isn’t making any excuses for Sunday’s defeat.
The Saints defensive end called out his team’s effort in a 48-40 loss to the Buccaneers at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as he expressed his frustration with the poor performance.
“The 48 points we allowed today was unacceptable,” Jordan said after the game, via NFL Media. “They made more big plays than we did. As a defense, you never want to give up 41 points. That’s on the defensive line, that’s on me. We got a wakeup call for sure.”
The Saints surrendered 529 yards that included 112 rushing yards and 417 passing. Still, Jordan said there’s no reason to panic and that the team has time to tweak its mistakes.
“The good thing for us is that it is Week 1,” Jordan said. “We can adjust this. It’s early.”
The Saints are slated to host the Browns at 1 p.m. ET Sunday before embarking on a two-game road trip.
