The 31-year-old from the Philippines jetted to Brazil with barely anytime to put in any serious training hours to go head-to-head with undefeated Santos.

And he lasted three rounds before the referee called off the fight following a brutal barrage of elbows to the head.

After trying to get to his feet, Anders collapsed to the canvas, barely able to move a muscle.

He was helped up by a member of his team and security but they couldn't keep him from flopping back to the floor.

The doctors rushed on to check on his welfare before he was taken to hospital.

Fortunately Anders took to social media to confirm he was fine and even managed to find the funny side.

He said: "Not gonna lie, I haven't been that tired since my wedding night."

He added on Instagram: "Regardless of the outcome I had a lot of fun last night. I rolled the dice, came up short,  and literally left everything in the cage. I can live with that.

"No moral victories, just on the next. Thank you everyone who watched and gave support."
