Shohei Ohtani has another injury to worry about.
The Angels star suffered a right thigh contusion when he collided with reliever Thyago Vieira at home plate in the ninth inning of Saturday’s 12-3 win over the White Sox, the Orange County Register reported.
Ohtani ran on a wild pitch but slid awkwardly into Vieira at the plate. He was able to walk back to the dugout under his own power and said he will be fine through the team interpreter after the game.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia confirmed Ohtani is day-to-day and will be further evaluated before Sunday’s series finale in Chicago.
“He’s OK,” Scioscia said, via MLB.com. “Looked like it got him more in the quad than on the knee. But we’ll see how it sets up.
Meanwhile, Ohtani is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery after sustaining new damage to his UCL in his right elbow. The procedure would keep the Japanese phemon out until at least 2020.
The Angels will close out their 10-game road trip at 2:10 p.m. ET Sunday against the White Sox.
