Englishman Tyrrell Hatton wasn’t happy with the way be putted the ball Saturday at this week’s FedEx Cup playoff event The Northern Trust, so he did something about it.

Hatton, who needed a good week to sneak inside the top 100 and advance to the second stage of the playoffs, used interesting means to improve his putting from Round 3 to Round 4. He went out and bought a new putter at Golf Galaxy.

Hatton shot a 2-over 73 in the third round, complete with 34 putts. He was fed up with his struggles on the greens, so he purchased a new Ping putter and grip. The results were instant, as he needed just 27 putts on Sunday while firing a 7-under 64 to finish the tournament at 8 under.

Though Hatton spends most of his time on the European Tour, he jumped between the two tours this season. He finished The Northern Trust tied for 20th, and he is now projected to sit 71st in the FedEx Cup standings.
