When does the Tour de France start?

The race began on Saturday, July 7 at 10.10am.

And the contest will draw to a close on Sunday, July 29.

What TV channel is it on?

ITV will be bringing viewers daily live coverage of the Tour de France.

Viewers will therefore be able to watch the action as it happens on the ITV Hub.

What is the 2018 Tour de France route?

Nearly all of the 3,351 kilometers of the route takes place in France.

But stage 16 will see the cyclists take a brief detour into Spain, from Carcassonne to Bagneres-de-Luchon.

The challenging route will include a mix of eight flat stages, five hilly stages, six mountain stages, three altitude finishes and an individual team time trial.
