The 2018 U.S. Open, the tennis season’s fourth and final Grand Slam, begins Monday, Aug. 27, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., and will conclude with the women’s singles championship Saturday, Sept. 8, and the men’s singles final Sunday, Sept. 9.

In the women’s draw, Simona Halep is the No. 1 seed. Halep was upset by Maria Sharapova in the first round last year and faces a similarly tough road to the 2018 final with No. 17 seed Serena Williams lurking in a potential quarterfinal match. Meanwhile, defending women’s singles champion Sloane Stephens is the No. 3 seed heading into the 2018 U.S. Open.

In the men’s draw, defending champ Rafael Nadal is the No. 1 seed looking for his 18th Grand Slam. But No. 2 seed Roger Federer sits in the other half of the bracket with tennis fans hoping for another classic Nadal-Federer showdown.
