UFC 227 takes place Saturday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles with a card highlighted by two championship rematches at the top of the bill.

The main event has bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw battling former titleholder Cody Garbrandt. The co-main event is Demetrious Johnson looking to defend the flyweight championship for a 12th time, when he takes on 2008 Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo.

In their first fight at UFC 217 in November, Dillashaw was nearly knocked out in the first round against Garbrandt but was saved by the bell. Everything changed in the second round when a Dillashaw head kick was the beginning of the end for Garbrandt, who ate a counter right hand and was stopped.

It appeared Dillashaw would be moving down to 125 pounds and challenging Johnson for his belt. Johnson, though, went on to have shoulder surgery and the Garbrandt rematch was the best available option for him. The trash talk between the former teammates has only intensified leading into the rematch with neither guy taking a back seat.

In their first outing at UFC 197 in April 2016, Johnson steamrolled Cejudo in the first round where a sequence of knees to the torso spelled demise for the former Olympic gold medalist in just under three minutes. Since then, Johnson has successfully defended his title vs. Tim Elliot, Wilson Reis and most recently, Ray Borg at UFC 215.

UFC 227 is a top-heavy event. It is rare to see title rematches take place on the same card. Can Garbrandt and Cejudo reverse their fortunes or do Dillashaw and Johnson continue to rule and inch closer to a superfight?

Live coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. ET, but follow along throughout the day as Sporting News will be providing updates.
