Justin Thomas is playing just like he wants one week out of the PGA Championship at Bellerive Golf Course in St. Louis, MO as he leads the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational by three shots after three rounds.

Thomas didn’t have the best round on the course on the day, that distinction belonged to pal Rickie Fowler who shot a 5-under 65, but the 25-year-old was as steady as can be finishing with a stellar 3-under 67 on his way to a three-shot lead.

“I just need to continue to go out and play well tomorrow,” Thomas told CBS after his round. “Because I have a lot of really good players that are chasing me.”

Rory McIlroy matched Thomas’ score and sits three shots back at 11 under. He is tied with Ian Poulter for second place.

World No. 10 Jason Day shot a 1-under 69 to finish the day alone in fourth place at 10 under. Shots like this pitch in on the 15th certainly helped.

Tiger Woods didn’t have his best day as he shot a 3-over 73, but he salvaged a bit on the 18th when he hit the flag on his approach.
