Team GB's women's team set up a dramatic semi-final clash against Sweden with a 6-5 win over Canada yesterday.

Eve Muirhead scored two points on the final end to set up Friday's game.

The men's side fell agonisingly short of the semis with a tie-breaker 9-5 defeat to Switzerland.

Nonetheless, both teams' efforts have turned Britain – and the rest of the world – curlywurly.

These hilarious videos of home attempts have gone viral – and it's no surprise why.

One clip shows PEOPLE being used as stones, as a man on an office chair slides towards his colleague while a woman uses a mop as a brush.

Another snap shows some creative Canadian fans using air hockey strikers as stones with masking tape depicting the house.

While one student at Bournemouth University demonstrates to her peers the budget way to play with a broomstick and plastic pot.

But it's nothing Muirhead and Co can't handle.

She said: "As a team we love playing under pressure and we kind of thrive under that.

"When you’re in the moment on that sheet of ice you don’t think about anything else.

"In every competition we tend to start slowly and build momentum.

"I always worry that we’ve left it too late but this time we haven't.

"We make it quite hard for ourselves but we’ve booked our spot."
