That of course didn't happen as The Notorious was stopped in the tenth round of his mismatch against Mayweather last year.

And after being proved wrong last time, Ibrahimovic has seemingly left 'camp McGregor' and tipped his Russian opponent to prevail in the octagon.

In an exclusive interview provided to The Mirror by BetHard, Ibrahimovic said: "I think Khabib will win because if he catches you, he doesn't let you loose.

"He will make you suffer in the ring and you don't only suffer. He makes you give up in a way that looks very bad."

Ibra, who is currently playing in the MLS with LA Galaxy after leaving Manchester United, believes Nurmagomedov plays the role of silent assassin perfectly.

He added: "Khabib is more the quiet guy but I feel he's more dangerous.

"I remember Emelianenko Fedor, another fighter who came from Russia. He was the same type, a different fighter. He was quiet, he was cold, but when he stepped in, it was something else."

Nurmagomedov is the reigning lightweight champion, and goes into the fight as the big favourite – something not usual for a fight involving McGregor.
